I provide individual therapy to children, teenagers and adults as well as couples therapy.
About
Lisa has experience supporting children, youth, families and adults with various challenges including anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic, relationship issues, depression, stress, burnout and insomnia.
Lisa utilizes evidence based approaches and works primarily from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) framework. In addition, she applies elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness.
Lisa is committed to a strengths based, client centered approach that supports clients in meeting their goals. Lisa works collaboratively to empower and build capacity and resiliency.
Lisa works from a trauma informed lens and brings a compassionate and non-judgemental approach to her practice. Lisa provides an active form of treatment that encourages clients to learn healthier coping skills and tools that can be used independently and enable them to explore patterns, perspectives and to better embrace life’s uncertainties.
When Lisa is not working she enjoys visiting her family in Nova Scotia, being by the ocean or water, hiking, kayaking and traveling to sunny destinations. She values culture, diversity, learning and making connections.
